Far Beyond the Red Carpet

by Lee Abrams

One of the biggest challenges in covering the Grammy's is....covering them. While they are best known for the Hollywood grand entries and the acceptance speeches from the big stars, these awards are actually very deep in categories that stretch far beyond the Red Carpet.

While TV traditionally does an admirable job at capturing the teary eyed winner, XM has the ability to dive deep into the awards and celebrate the winners in EVERY category from Bluegrass to Gospel to Classical and beyond, which reflects the diversity in which XM is built upon. Through our dedicated Grammy radio channel, we can reflect these awards in an entirely new "theater of the mind" dimension that is more akin to the way the Oscars were covered back in the pre TV Days on Network Radio. Nothing quite captures the magic like National radio broadcasts that merge XM's own music experts with the celebration of music and the Technicolor aura of radio.

In an Industry rife with politics, competition and tension, XM Grammy coverage is an escape from the madness to celebrate the achievements and creations of today's essential artists span the complete spectrum from the big names to the newly emerging to the unknown.
