BEST LATIN POP ALBUM: OBIE BERMUDEZ
“Lo Que Trajo El Barco” continues to showcase the many talents of singer/songwriter Obie Bermudez. Obie spills his heart out with a winning combination of pop, tropical and other contemporary sounds while still managing to showcase his bohemian side in songs like “La Soledad.” This may well be the album that solidifies Obie Bermudez as a household name in the Latin market and VIVA XM91is proud to play a role in giving this talent extraordinaire the national exposure he deserves.

BEST LATIN ALTERNATIVE ALBUM: LOS AMIGOS INVISIBLES
Los Amigos Invisibles is a genuine dance music machine as witnessed by the energized audience they recently entertained at our XM performance studio. Consistent with past releases, “Superpop Venezuela” is sizzling hot and ready to rock the dance floors of the world. In the future we are going to see more groups like Los Amigos Invisibles, capable of blending pop, rock, funk, acid jazz, tropical and, you name it, because Latinos are increasingly becoming more bicultural.

Jay Perez, who has one of the most distinctive voices in Tejano music, believe it or not, started his career as a drummer. Meanwhile, with stops as vocalist with Latin Breed and David Lee Garza y Los Musicales, he went on his own in the mid-90s, where I had the pleasure of meeting him before he performed at the Cinco De Mayo celebration inside Texas Stadium in Dallas, Texas. One thing’s for sure, when you hear him sing, there’s no mistaking him for anyone else. For that reason, he is known as “La Voz”….San Antonio’s Jay Perez, Grammy Nominee.

Fuego XM90 is ecstatic with this nomination For the 2007 Latin Grammys . One of out top dogs Tego Calderon the King Of Reggaeton to many is nominated for "Best Latin Urban Album". AKA "El Abayarde" has earned international acclaim for his unique musical style and lyrically has forged a revolutionary flow inspired by his street roots. He openly addresses such issues as racisim, poverty, and class oppression. Tego is one of the few artists that is not out to make commercial songs but out to make music that pleases himself in hopes that it pleases others as well. Whether it be his choice not to wear diamonds, or his style of music he is truly appreciated on how real he has been throughout his career. This is what set him apart from other Reggaeton artists from the start. Fuego XM90 congratulates our nominee.
